There are plenty of reasons I love calling Mount Horeb home. But every fall, there’s one evening that reminds me just how much personality this little town has: Witches Night Out.
The Mount Horeb Chamber of Commerce puts on this event each October, and it’s become one of my favorite excuses to gather some friends, dress up a little, and head downtown. There’s something so fun about seeing Main Street full of people ready for a night out, and watching our local businesses get into the spirit of it, too.
I’ve made Witches Night Out a tradition with two friends (who also happen to be talented designers at Brio Design Homes!) We make a night of it—catching up, sipping on themed cocktails, wandering through the shops, and inevitably running into people we know.
As a Realtor, I talk with people all the time about what they want in a home: the right layout, enough space, a great kitchen, maybe a yard for the dog. Those things matter. But I also think about what it feels like to live outside the walls of a house. Can you walk into town and feel part of something? Are there local traditions you look forward to year after year?
For me, Witches Night Out is one of those traditions. It’s playful, it brings people together, and it gives our local shops and businesses a chance to shine. It’s a small glimpse of the community I’m lucky to call home.
If you’ve never been, grab a friend and come see Mount Horeb in its witchy glory this October. You can find this year’s details on the Chamber’s Witches Night Out page. I'd love to see you downtown!
