Your local guide to Christmas tree farms in Dane County.
There's something about bringing home a real Christmas tree that makes the holiday season feel official. The crisp Wisconsin air, the smell of fresh evergreens, and the annual debate over which tree is the one. It's a tradition worth bundling up for.
Luckily, Dane County has plenty of local farms where you can find your perfect tree, whether you're cutting your own or picking one that's ready to take home. Here are a few of our favorites to explore this season.

A Few Tips Before You Go
Wisconsin winters have a way of keeping us on our toes, so dress warmly, bring waterproof boots, and measure your space before falling in love with a tree that's a little too tall. Visiting earlier in the season usually means more selection, and checking each farm's website before heading out is always a good idea, as hours and availability can change.
Home for the Holidays
One of our favorite things about Dane County is the abundance of local traditions that make this community feel like home. From family-owned tree farms to the familiar glow of Christmas lights around the neighborhood, there's something special about this time of year.
Whether you find the perfectly shaped evergreen or bring home one with a little extra character, we hope it becomes part of a season filled with good company, cozy evenings, and memories worth keeping.
